Chinese restaurants in the United States range from steam-table lunch counters to white-tablecloth Cantonese seafood halls, and most fall somewhere in between: a laminated menu, a lunch special board, and combo plates priced a few dollars below the dinner menu. Ordering by number off the menu is normal and speeds things up, especially at takeout counters. Family-style ordering, where a table shares several dishes with rice rather than each person getting an individual entree, is standard at sit-down spots and usually cheaper per person. Many neighborhood restaurants are cash-preferred or charge a small card fee, so it is worth asking or checking the door before you order. Delivery apps cover most areas, but calling the restaurant directly is often faster and avoids the markup.

I fail to see the difference from kpot. Same esthetic. The food don't get me wrong was awesome but nothing really sets this place apart. Cheese and chocolate fondue was awesome, not gonna lie. We spent 320.00 for 3 people with drinks. 400 after tip. Without drinks 3 could run you about 225.00. Service was 100% the allure of this place. Our server was perfect and outstanding. if you are looking for a non Korean kpot, this is the place except 150.00 more. The server that brought out our pots not the waitress hit the topmost my wine glass and broke it sending shards of glass over everything. They reacted quickly and cleans the glass up and change the napkins that had shards if glass on them. Change the grill top to. Waitress ha dall new silverware and napkins and glasses to the table to quickest was amazing. Those pot setups are heavy so i get it. This didn't hurt the evening but just something to note..Move the glassware when they bring the pots to the table.

We had an amazing experience at The Melting Pot! The manager and our waiter were both incredibly respectful, kind, and attentive throughout the entire evening. The restaurant itself was quiet, clean, and had such a welcoming atmosphere. There was an error with our order, and the staff handled it so professionally and generously — our food ended up being free and we only had to pay for our drinks. Their customer service truly exceeded expectations. We really appreciated how well everything was handled and will definitely be coming back. Highly recommend!

Service is very good. food is tasty. The cocept of cooking food on table in hot pot is something different. But but the quantity of food is less.

Brother/Sister in love treated me and my husband to the Melting Pot. It was an amazing experience for our first time. The menu is easy to read and understand how to put your meal together. My old fashioned was delicious. Cooking our food was fun. Our server Gabe was so patient with us and answered all questions. Nice atmosphere and we will definitely go back. Happy Valentine’s Day weekend 2026💕💕💕

I’m not one to leave a bad review but I feel there is a need for it. While the service was excellent, especially for having a new server and training, the entree on the other hand was not the best. The Melting Pot in Troy is me and my boyfriend’s Anniversary dinner spot. We might give it one more try next year. For the entree, I got the 3 steaks and he got duck, shrimp, and teriyaki steak with a lobster tail added on. Without a doubt they don’t give you as much anymore and there was just something off about all the meat. I can’t tell you if it was the flavor or cut of meat but I will say it was very disappointing. The lobster tail seemed old and was not good. The cheese was good, the drinks were good, and the chocolate and dippers were good as well. The lettuce in the salad was old and browned and the tomatoes were old and mushy. I will say that they also don’t fill the pot for the cheese and chocolate as much anymore either. Hoping that they can do a little better especially for the price. The Melting Pot used to totally be worth the price but I wouldn’t say the same anymore. Like I said in the beginning the service was great, not the servers fault one bit.
